The Brow Hike 2011 was held on the weekend of 26th and 27th March 2011.

The largest entry since 1998 saw 17 teams take part in the hike, representing 9 Scout Groups from as far afield as Sandbach in Cheshire. 16 of these teams successfully completed the 30 km course. Our congratulations to you all.

It was a hotly contested hike this year, with both of the top 2 teams exceeding the previous record winning score of 902 points, and all of the top 6 teams recording scores that in previous years might have seen them placed first.

The winners were announced as the 12th Halifax Sea Scouts, with an incredible score of 917 points out of a possible 1000. This is the highest winning score by any team since recent records began in 1989.

1st Mytholmroyd put in another excellent performance, pushing the eventual winners all the way to repeat their success of last year and finish in 2nd place (903 points). The 3rd place trophy was taken by another team from the 12th Halifax Sea Scouts (822 points).

The prize for best Team Leader was awarded to George King of the winning team, 12th Halifax Sea Scouts. He scored the maximum possible 100 points for his leadership skills as demonstrated during the hike. This is a remarkable achievement, as it is the first time a Team Leader has been awarded full marks. Well done George.
